Use case
BackWholesale price monitoring and discount alerts
A wholesale price monitoring system that compares supplier offers and alerts purchasing managers when prices change.
Overview
Wholesale suppliers sometimes discount products to clear warehouse space. These offers can create good purchasing opportunities, but only if a buyer notices the price change while the discount is still available.
FerrisDev built a system that monitored supplier prices, compared current offers, and alerted purchasing managers to price changes.
The Monitoring Problem
Without a dedicated monitoring system, managers had to revisit supplier listings and compare prices by hand. This made price monitoring a recurring manual task and increased the chance that a short-lived discount would be missed.
The company needed a consistent view of supplier prices and a way to bring meaningful changes to a manager's attention, rather than relying on someone to perform the same checks throughout the day.
Tracking Supplier Prices
The system collected current pricing from wholesale suppliers and associated offers for the same or similar products. It compared new observations with previously recorded prices and generated alerts when a price changed.
Dashboard and Alerts
Purchasing managers could review current supplier prices in a dashboard and use alerts to spot new discounts and changed offers.
Outcome
The system reduced manual price checking and helped purchasing managers identify discounted wholesale stock while the offer was still relevant.
Where Price Monitoring Helps
This kind of system is useful when wholesale prices change regularly and favorable offers may be temporary. It gives purchasing teams a practical way to monitor several suppliers and respond to discounts without assigning managers to continuous manual comparison.
